Sujiko grew up as one of two children on a small island on Newhall. At a young age, he was always around adults which may have contributed to his rapid maturity. He was given a computer real young, and immediately took it apart and put it together. By the time he was in school, he had already begun writing some basic computer programs. He had always been the nerd of the class, but has never minded. Eventually it became a status symbol and a core part of his personality and lifestyle. Sujiko's mother was his only surviving relative. When Sujiko was 2 years old, his father had an accident at work. The water tank in the tanker he was stationed on had been unstable, but budget cuts postponed repairs until a later date. On this particular run, his father was on a lower deck when the tank burst and flooded the ship, which crash landed into the water. Sujiko's mother was a friendly woman, but began to neglect him after the accident, for the most part leaving Sujiko to survive on his own. To add to the problem, his sister (who had decided to become a missionary, against the will of their parents) was aboard a ship attacked by Reavers. There were no survivors. Before Sujiko left Newhall, he applied to a university that had just opened on Londium - the Institute of Systems Engineering. After months of waiting, he finally got a response stating that he was accepted, and would be enrolled when the semester began in six months. After working for a few years in the water market, Sujiko decided he had better start looking for a more solid career. He had a small amount of money saved up, and decided to try to hitch a ride to the core planets and attend the university for computer and systems engineering. Unfortunately, he was mugged on Persephone, and had everything stolen from him. He's been noted by the Alliance as a 'potential computer systems security threat'
